Vocational rehabilitation services (VR), are vital links to economic empowerment power and help for individuals with disabilities. It provides the stimulus and training to prepare you to go to work, or obtain, and maintain employment. Nehemiah Behavioral Health (NBH) provides you with the training, support, and career placement services to enter the job market.
The rehabilitation process begins after an individual applies for services from Nehemiah Behavioral Health as a services provider.
First, an application form is completed, and an intake interview is conducted to identify the individual’s medical, social, financial, educational, and vocational experiences. This is when NBH gets to explore the applicant’s skills, abilities, and interests – and to understand his or her specific vocational rehabilitation needs.
Once eligibility is established, the participant and the vocational rehabilitation counselor work together to develop an Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE). This plan describes the services that will be needed so that the individual can reach his or her employment goal. And because Nehemiah Behavioral Health is committed to making the best matches for employers and employees, each participant’s program is individually tailored to meet needs on a case-by-case basis.
What’s the outcome of this rehabilitation process? Ideally, we assist the candidate to find suitable employment in a career of their choice. Depending on the services needed, the rehabilitation process can last anywhere from a few months to several years.
Of course, our work doesn’t end with placement. From the application to the employee’s employment and any adjustments periods, we are there for you throughout your journey.
